IF YOU ARE LESS THAN 34 WEEKS ALONG

Go to the hospital if you have ANY of the following

  • Bleeding like a menstrual period
  • The bag of waters breaks (or you think it has broken)
  • 6 or more contractions in an hour (even if they are not painful)

IF YOU ARE 34 WEEKS ALONG OR MORE

Go to the hospital if you have ANY of the following

  • Bleeding like a menstrual period
  • The bag of waters breaks (or you think it has broken)
  • You have painful contractions occurring every 5 minutes for more than an hour
  • You do not feel the baby move as usual
    • The baby should kick at least 10 times every 2 hours.  If there is less movement than this, you need to be evaluated.

 
It is not necessary to call the office for any of these issues, as you will be instructed to GO TO THE HOSPITAL.  Dr. Thompson will be called when you arrive at Labor and Delivery.
